FAQs
1. Are there different types of Connect Groups? Yes, there are two types of groups being offered right now: the 1st will focus on Kingdom Values and the 2nd will focus on an affinity.
Connect Group:
These Connect Groups focus on relational connection and spiritual growth. Each group takes time to grow in relationship and go deeper with questions related to our recent sermons and kingdom values.
Affinity Group:
These Connect Groups focus on connecting around a shared activity.
Each group goes into more detail in their description, and has a button to contact the leader if you have more questions.
2. How do I know which type of group I'm signing up for? It is listed in both the description of the group, and stated on the group photo if you are signing up for a Kingdom Value Group or an Affinity Group.
3. What can I expect when we meet together?
It depends on which type of group you join. Here’s what to expect for both:
Kingdom Value Groups: These groups are designed to take us deeper in learning the ways of God and deeper in relationship.
A general flow could include:
- Eating
- Connecting
- Discussing the questions (posted in the sermon notes of the week prior in the HC app)
- Praying together
- Encouraging each other
Affinity Groups:
These groups are designed to connect us around a shared activity or interest. Based on which group you sign up for there will most likely be snacks, and gathering around the main theme of the group.
For All groups:
To find out what’s happening with food & childcare, simply check the description of the group.
You can also filter your search for connect groups based on your preferences.
You can also hit the contact button to reach out to the group leader to ask any specific question you might have.
4. When & How often do we meet?
Most groups will meet the 2nd & 4th week of the month. This round will start the last week of February and go through the first week of June.
The exact day of the week and time of day is listed in each group description. There is also an “event calendar” that you can subscribe to from your group, so it’s automatically in your calendar. You will also get automated reminders sent to your email a couple days before it’s meet time.
5. What happens if I miss the deadline to sign up for a group?
The deadline for this round is Monday, February 27th. If you miss this deadline, that’s ok, we will launch another round in the fall! In the meantime, make sure to join us for Men’s Breakfast or Ladies Night on the 3rd Saturday of each month, so we can keep connecting with you!!
6. How do I sign up?
1) Click the link below to peruse the options.
2) Once you know which group works for your schedule. Hit the “request to join” button.
3) The leader will see your request, and you will be notified with your next steps & exact address! Each group has a maximum capacity, and will automatically close once that number is hit.
7. How can I get in touch with people in my group?
Once all the groups are made, there will be a group message made just for your group through the HC app. Your leaders will go over this on the first night, to make sure you know how to find it!
8. Can I bring a friend to the Connect Group?
Because the nature of Connect Groups is to grow deeper in relationship, these are closed groups. You are always welcome to invite a friend to church on Sunday, or to Ladies Night/ Men’s Breakfast (3rd Saturday) or to the Tuesday night Prayer Room.
9. Why should I join a Connect Group?
We believe that discipleship happens through relationship. Having people in your life to love you, encourage you and strengthen you is the way the body of Christ is meant to function.
